We have further information about the NIRS Consortium portion of the joint AOAC and NFTA conference being held June 3 through 6 at the Kalahari Resort and Conference Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI.  The agenda Conference agenda.NIRSC schedule5-29.pdf was developed by NIRS Consortium and NFTA with topics and speakers related to NIRS testing and reference methodology.  We have again planned a tour so please take a look at the page Tour sign up form2.pdf with tour information and sign up. We hope you can join us for a visit to the newly refurbished UW Diary Cattle Center and the US Dairy Forage Research Center. Lastly we have a sponsorship sponsorship form.pdf form.  Please consider making a contribution to help pay for our speakers and NIRS educational activities such as our sample handling workshop.  We are completely relying upon sponsorships to pay for our activities at this joint conference, so we appreciate your support!

To register for this joint conference, you will need to do so through AOAC’s system.  You can register by visiting their website at http://www.midwestaoac.org/index.html

If you have not booked lodging for the joint AOAC/NIRSC/NFTA conference June 3-6, you can still do so and get the $89 per night rate at the Kalahari Resort.  To get this rate, however, you will need to call the Kalahari at 877-525-2427 and explain you are with the Midwest AOAC joint conference and would like the $89 room rate.

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS:

The proceedings from NIRSC or NFTA presentations will be available only electronically, posted on the NIRSC website after the conference.  If you would like to take notes during the presentations, please bring a notebook or the Kalahari does provide small note pages.

TOUR INFORMATION:

To register for the tour, please do so by filling out the form and returning to the NIRSC business office.  For the tour departure, please take a look at maps resortMap.pdf of the Kalahari resort.  On page 2 you will see the resort overview and entrances (marked with E’s).  Our tour bus can be identified by the company name Able Trek Tours on the side.  The bus will load in between the entrances by or near Damon’s restaurant and depart at 8:30am on Monday June 3rd.  There will be refreshments on the bus for the drive and we are expecting to stop on the way back for lunch, paid on your own.  We are planning to order ahead of time and pick up lunch at Culvers of Deforest and eat on the ride back to Wisconsin Dells.
